Being able to perform at your best requires you to recover at an optimal rate.  Whether athletes on our team are injured or just looking to perform optimally we have a team of experts to help keep us race ready. 

They are run by sports specific and recovery specialists, who are also OCR athletes themselves, so they understand the demands and needs of an Obstacle Course Racing athlete.

Volition Chiropractic is run by OCR athlete Alexis "Alex" Buford.  Alex graduated from William Jewell College in 2016 majoring in biology with a minor in pre-medicine.  She went on to attend Cleveland University-Kansas City and received her doctorate of Chiropractic in 2020. During her time at school she had the opportunity to do a clinical clerkship at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, work with several athletes in the Cleveland Outpatient Health Center, as well as attend several seminars for further certifications and training.  

Volition Chiropractic provides chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy on soft tissue, taping, and functional movement screens and rehabilitation protocols to keep you race ready!

Kelly Williams, PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS, TASC-F

Kelly is the Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. She has been practicing as a Licensed Physical Therapist for 18 years. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and a Master Degree in Physical Therapy from Marquette University. She did her undergraduate work in psychology.

Kelly holds Certification as Board Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy through the ABPTS (American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties), is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator by the NSCA, is a certified Kinesiotape ® Practitioner, ASTYM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) provider, and a certified Emergency Medical Responder, and is certified to perform dry needling. 

She is a clinical instructor for Physical Therapy doctoral students from universities in Illinois and Iowa completing their final internships. Kelly’s expertise is in sports medicine. She utilizes functional exercises, active tissue release, and manual therapy techniques for joint mobility, corrective exercises, functional movement screens and motion analysis for the athletic population.

Kelly is also a high level OCR athlete competing in events since 2010 including winning CTG Continuum at 2020's Little Rock race.  She is extremely versatile and is a regular on the podium in the elite cateogry of OCRs ranging in everythign from 5k to ultra-distance.  Some of her highlights include top five finish at Toughest Mudder (2018) and age group win (40-44) at HYROX Chicgo (2020).  She also has experience in triathlon, trail running and DekaFit.
